Abstract:High-level animal biosafety laboratories include biosafety level 3/4 laboratories and animal biosafety level 3/4 laboratories, which are barrier environments within experiment facility for laboratory animal. These are primarily used for experiments of highly pathogenic microorganisms involving pathogen culture and the infection of experimental animals or research animals. Such laboratories are complex structures for construction and operation, featuring numerous engineering systems (such as air supply and exhaust systems, high-efficiency filtration systems, wastewater treatment systems, and carcass treatment systems), which require more space for construction, operation, and maintenance compared to other types of facilities. Interstitial space is a design concept that creates additional space for mechanical and electrical pipeline systems, categorized into full interstitial space and partial interstitial space. It offers advantages such as safety, convenience, and flexibility, resulting in lower lifecycle costs and longer-term benefits when utilized.
