    Abstract:

Now it is believed that a family of glucose transport proteins (GLUTS) structurally and functionally related is an important candidate of diabetes mellitus type 2. In this review, we discuss their structure, chromosomal location of the genes, tissue distribution ,physiological function and the relation between GLUTS and the pathological and physiological changes in diabetes mellitus type 2.
