    Abstract:

Objective To standardize the det ection culture media for bacteria in cleaning laboratory animals, three kinds o f media (DHL agar, SS agar, nutrient agar) from 6 media manufactures were selecte d. Methods 3 strains of bacteria ( Salmonella, Pasteurella Pne umot ropica, Bordetella Bronchiseptica) were used to compare and contrast quantitat ively and qualitatively. ResultsThere was no difference among the three kinds of m edia from 6 media manufactures except SS agar. SS agar from National Institute f or the Control of Pharmaceutical and Biological Products and MERCK Inc. had a s trong suppressive effect to Salmonella. Pasteurella Pneumotropica could not grow at blood agar from MERCK Inc. ConclusionBlood agar from Merck Inc. are not suitable . SS agar from National Institute for the Control of Pharmaceutical and Biological P roducts and Merck Inc are not suitable too. The remainders are eligible.
