In the article, t he achievements are reviewed which h ave been made in the laboratory animal science(LAS) of PLA over the past ten yea rs, and the representative and tendentious problems are analyzed which have accr ued during the developing course of the laboratory animal science(the LAS).in ad dition, aspects like the policy for laboratory animal are discussed based on res ources disposition, scientific research funds, personal application and training , and the direction into which the laboratory animal science will penetrate. Her e, the aim and field of the preferential development of the LAS is first put for ward.
