Objective To study the effect of Jinkuishenqiwan(JKW) on the model of kidney-Yang deficiency in rats. Methods Rats were devided into five groups:normal group, model group,therapeutic groups(high,middle,low dose). Except the normal group,the others were made into model of kidney yang deficiency by injecting hydrocortisone. After that, normal and model groups were given equal distilled water , therapeutic groups were given corresponding dose of JKW for twenty succesoive days. In the end, contents of SOD,GSH PX,MDA,testosterone and the organ indexes of every group were determined.Results The contents of SOD,GSH PX,testosterone were obvious higher and the contents of MDA were lower in therapeutic groups than in model group. Meantime,in the therapeutic groups the body weight was higher, the renal indexes were lower than in the model group. And the testis indexes of the high dose group were obvious higher. Conclusion It is indicated that JKW exerts a certain therapeutic effect on the kidney yang deficiency in rats.
