With a large number of mouse lines of biology engineer are produced, establishment of embryo cryopreservation technology for preservating these resources is very important. It has made a great progress since the successful cryopreservation of mouse embryos in 1972. Most studies focused on the methods of cryopreservation and finding better cryoprotective agent. This review summarized the basic principal, the resent progress and application of perspectives of the cryopreservation technology.
