The authors introduced several teaching methods in academic English teaching practice for improving students′ comprehensive practical language application abilities. These suggestions are based on the authors′ teaching experiences as well as experiences gained from teachers from University of Minnesota in USA while the author was the visiting scholar during 2009 to 2010. The authors hope these methods give optimistic instructions for students of medical laboratory animal science to master the characteristics of the academic English，to improve their learning efficacy and to improve practical language application abilities.
