ObjectiveTo develop a novel fixator for beagles. Methods To devise a stainless steel frame according to the body size of Beagles, on which the dogs stay in a prone position on a canvas pad of the upper frame, their legs are bound to the lower frame, and their heads can move freely. ResultsConscious Beagles can be fixed on the fixator for a long time and this fixing method is suitable for drug infusion or repeated blood-taking. Conclusion We have successfully developed a simple and convenient fixator for Beagle dogs in laboratory experiments.
