Abstract:Cervical cancer (CC) exhibits a younger age of onset and severely endangers women"s life and health. Currently, there remains a lack of significantly effective therapeutic regimens for this disease. To promote the development of clinical diagnosis and treatment of cervical cancer, it is crucial to screen animal models that conform to the clinical syndrome characteristics of cervical cancer. By summarizing existing animal models of cervical cancer, they mainly include spontaneous cervical cancer, induced cervical cancer, transplanted cervical cancer, and genetically engineered cervical cancer. Through assignment analysis of each model based on the clinical syndrome characteristics of cervical cancer in traditional Chinese and Western medicine (TCM-WM), it was found that the transplanted animal models of cervical cancer have a relatively high degree of TCM-WM consistency. Among them, the subcutaneous transplantation method has a Western medicine clinical consistency of 70% and is the most commonly used, while the orthotopic cervical transplantation method has a TCM clinical consistency of 68.5%. Spontaneous and induced models are less frequently used due to low modeling success rates, significant inter-model differences, and poor consistency. Overall, the TCM consistency of all models is relatively low, which is not conducive to the development of integrated TCM-WM diagnosis and treatment of cervical cancer. Therefore, suggestions such as applying TCM pathogenic factors and establishing TCM model evaluation criteria are proposed to improve the development of cervical cancer models and promote clinical disease research.
