Authors found 3 adults and 1 egg of mites in Chinese hamsters in early 1999. 8 males of examined hamsters were from Beijing.The mites belong to the family Demodicidae,genus Demodex by taxonomic characteristics,but they are different from other species described before Further study would be needed.
