Objective To preserve a good stock or strain in a barrier system which has many facilities and installations and need to be maintained. Methods The animals were moved from a trouble system to a normal system in a given way. Results Nearly 18 000 animals of 2 stocks 4 strains were moved safely. Conclusion The way used is safe and practicable.
