Objective To establish stable and reliable rat renal transplantation models of chronic rejection．Methods Wistar and SD rats were used as donors and recipients，left renal was removed from the donors． End-to-end anastomosis of inferior vena cava and renal vein，abdominal aorta and renal artery were operated． At 3，6，9 weeks，renal allografts were removed and postoperative complications and renection were observed． Results At 9 weeks，visible chronic rejection could be seen and some allograts suffered from hydronephrosis，while which had little relationship with rejection．Conclusions This method is feasible and reliable for chronic rejection of rat and it is an ideal model．
