The characteristic of autoimmune diseases is the loss of B cell tolerance，BAFF plays an important role in B cell proliferation and survival by binding to its receptors． BAFF-transgenic mice is likely to develop autoimmune diseases． So BAFF antagonism or inhibition may be a target for the treatment of autoimmunity． In this paper，we summarize progress in understanding the role of BAFF in autoimmune diseases．
