Along with the development of medical domain, many achievements on human organ transplantation have been attained and organ transplantation has been routinely applied in clinical practice. But because of infection, reject reaction and surgical techniques,small intestine transplantation has never extensively carried out in clinic. Just for this point, it is important and necessary to set up the reliable animal model. This article makes a review on surgical techniques and characteristic of small intestine transplantation in pigs. It may provide the significant basis for small intestine transplantation in clinic.
