Chinese Journal of Comparative Medicine is a national semimonthly academic journal co-sponsored by the Chinese Association for Laboratory Animal Sciences (CALAS) and the Institute of Laboratory Animal Sciences (ILAS), Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences (CAMS). II. Submission Requirements
1. Manuscript Criteria
- Originality, scientific rigor, and practical relevance.
- Clear arguments, reliable data, concise language, accurate punctuation, standardized terminology, and legible figures/tables.
2. Submission Method
- Online submission only via the journal’s website. Click “Author/Reviewer Login” to register and upload manuscripts.
- Upon submission, the editorial office will email the manuscript ID and acknowledgment receipt to the first and corresponding authors.
3. Processing
- Editorial feedback will be provided promptly.
- To withdraw or submit elsewhere, contact the office at 86-10-67779337.
Dual submissions are prohibited.
III. Manuscript Components
- English: Title, authors, affiliations (with city/postal code), abstract, keywords (3~8), Chinese Library Classification (CLC) number.
- Main text and References.
IV. Formatting Guidelines
1. Title
- Concise (≤20 Chinese characters; ≤10 English substantive words). Avoid obscure abbreviations.
- Example:
> English: Observation of Stability of Type 1 Diabetic Rat Models Induced by Streptozotocin
2. Authors and Affiliations
- Format: “SURNAME Givenname” (e.g., “JIANG Sheng”). For multiple affiliations, use superscripts.
- Example:
JIANG Sheng1, XIE Zijing1, ZHANG Li2

3. Abstract & Keywords
- Abstract: Structured (Objective, Methods, Results, Conclusions; ~300 words).
- Keywords: Separate with semicolons.
4. Footnotes (first page)
- Funding projects (source/grant number).
- Author bio(s): Name (birth year–), gender, title, degree, research focus, email.
- Corresponding author: Mark with E-mail.
5. Laboratory Animals
- Nomenclature: Comply with GB14923 or international committees (e.g., International Committee on Standardized Genetic Nomenclature for Mice).
- Source: Provide production license numbers (domestic) or quality certificates (international).
- Quality: Adhere to national standards (GB14922.1/2, GB14924.1-3, GB14925).
- Ethics: IACUC approval number and facility license must be stated.
- Welfare: Declare compliance with animal welfare regulations.
6. Main Text
- Structure: Introduction, Materials/Methods, Results, Discussion (use headings: 1 → 1.1 → 1.1.1).
- Species names: Include full Latin binomials at first mention (e.g., Rattus norvegicus).
- Tables/Figures: Number sequentially (Arabic numerals); bilingual captions. Tables: three-line format.
7. References
- Journal: Author(s). Title [J]. Journal Name, Year, Volume: PageRange.

V. Additional Policies
1. Fees & Proofs
- No review fee. Page charges: RMB 500 for a black-white page; RMB 1000 for a colored page; Normally not more than RMB 8000. For excellent manuscripts or invited submissions, the APC may be discounted or waivered as appropriate upon written request from the authors.
- Authors must proofread galleys; only typographical corrections permitted post-approval.
- Upon publication: Honorarium (includes copyright transfer) 2 complimentary copies.
2. Plagiarism Pre-test
Database Inclusion In accordance with national requirements for journal quality management, to prevent academic misconduct and improve the integrity of the publishing system, Chinese Journal of Comparative Medicine conducts text similarity checks for all submissions using databases Academic Misconduct Literature Detection System for Science and Technology Journals (http://sydwybjyx.wanfangtech.com.cn).
3. Database Inclusion
- Indexed in CNKI, Wanfang, and other major Chinese databases. Opt-out requests must be declared at submission.
- Online First: CAJ-N (China Academic Journal Network) publishes preprints, recognized as formal publication. Authors may download certificates via CNKI.
